Top Sirloin Steak, Flank Steak, or Strip Steak – cut ¾ to 1 inch thick (it's important to get a steak cut in this thickness)
Marinade
Bottled Italian vinaigrette
Minced garlic
Ground black pepper
Combine marinade ingredients in small bowl. Place steak in marinade and marinate in refrigerator for 6 to 24 hours. Pat steak dry with paper towels before broiling.
Set oven rack 4 inches below broiler. Preheat broiler.
Place steak under broiler for approximately 5 min. Turn steak and broil another 5 minutes, or until it reaches desired doneness. Remove steak from oven and tent with foil. Let it rest for 5 min before slicing. Medium rare steak should be cooked to 145 degrees F, as measured by a meat thermometer.
